Gary Woodland was paired with three-time Masters champion Phil Mickelson on Saturday afternoon. For the second straight round with Callaway X-22 Irons, Woodland couldnt put together a run like he did on Thursday when he played the last six holes at 6 under. Woodland shot 2 over on Saturday, placing him at even par for the tournament and tied for 38th with Robert Karlsson.
If there were any positives to take away for Woodland, its that he was able to limit his mistakes to bogeys. On Friday, he double-bogeyed two holes, derailing a promising round. On Saturday, the problem was that he made just two birdies. Woodland missed his best opportunity.

Hideki Matsuyama is focused on Augusta National. But His heart is in Sendai, Japan. The 19-year-old golfer is a student at Tohoku Fukushi University in Sendai, the city that took the brunt of the March 11 earthquake and the tsunami that followed. He still cant reach some friends there; he has no idea what will be left of his school when he returns.
Yet he has somehow managed to put his worry and despair aside at the Masters, if only for these few days. He was the only amateur to make the cut and, after a 68 on Saturday, is at 3 under for the tournament. The 68 is the lowest by an amateur since James Driscolls in the first round in 2001.
I was very happy to come over here and play the Masters, Matsuyama said. I wasnt sure whether I would be able to encourage the people in Japan by my play. But at least I really wanted to enjoy this experience.
The last five groups of the third round were a total of 11 strokes over par, as most of the upward movement on Moving Day came from players further back. Mickelson Makes Effort To Win Masters .Among those struggling: Rickie Fowler shot 76, while Ricky Barnes and Alvaro Quiros had 75s.
